You may not be old enough to remember it, but from 1971 through 1978 television hosted a game show that routinely brought celebrities and the pastime of bowling together for some memorable match ups. Actors and actresses like William Shatner and Kate Jackson faced down other celebs like George Foreman, Bob Newhart and Frankie Avalon for some serious bowling. The show was called––appropriately enough––Celebrity Bowling. Today you can still spot famous people taking a break from the limelight to knock over a few pins. Justin Bieber was seen getting hot and heavy with Selena Gomez at LA’s Matador Bowl. The paparazzi has gotten its share of shots of pop star Britney Spears sneaking off to do a little bowling with her family. Even the President of the United States was spotted taking his daughters bowling in Hawaii.

So why is bowling a sport that is enjoyed by so many celebrities? Because beneath all that fame, celebrities are just people and bowling is fun. To find a bowling center near you, visit here. Then go bowling!
